City’s Richards out for 4 months with knee injury

Manchester City defender Micah Richards is set to miss up to

four months of the season following an operation on his right

knee.

Richards was carried off on a stretcher during Manchester City’s

1-0 win in the Premier League match against Swansea on

Saturday.

He underwent surgery on his torn meniscus on Monday.

Richards says ”I have a brace on it and I am using crutches,”

adding ”I can’t do anything at all for the next four to six weeks

and I am probably looking at 12-16 weeks before I am back in

action.”

Richards missed the start of the season with a right ankle

injury.

City’s other right backs Pablo Zabaleta and offseason signing

Maicon are both due to return soon from injury.
