Chicharito goes from Bayer Leverkusen hero to goat as Bayer Leverkusen lose

Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez didn't get off to the start he wanted this season. That's largely because he didn't get to play after a freak accident at home left him with a broken hand and watching from the sidelines. So a year after his terrific 26-goal season for the Germans, he was on the back foot to begin with.

Then Saturday happened and he finally got on the scoresheet.

Somehow, like always, he managed to find himself unmarked. From there, all he had to do was round the goalkeeper, which was no problem.

There was the equalizer for Bayer and Chicharito was a darling in Leverkusen again. But Eintracht Frankfurt scored again to take the lead. Bayer needed to find the net once more and when they drew a penalty late, it looked like they would do just that.

Chicharito had a goal under his belt, he was feeling good and Bayer gave their striker the penalty to earn them a point ... but he smashed it off the post. Bayer slumped to a loss and Chicharito went from hero to goat in the span of 30 minutes.

If Mexican fans want to feel a bit better about things, Marco Fabian scored the winning goal for Eintracht, so it was a pretty good day for Mexicans in Frankfurt. But Chicharito will certainly rue his missed penalty as he continues to fight some bad luck at the start of the season.
