Chelsea can clinch Premier League title with win at West Brom

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

The Premier League title is in Chelsea's sights, and a win at West Brom on Friday will secure a second title in three years and a fifth overall for the club (3 p.m., NBCSN).

Chelsea needs three points to make whatever second-place Tottenham does the rest of the season obsolete, and it faces a West Brom squad that is mired in a six-game winless stretch.

After last season's 10th-place finish in its title defense, Chelsea has rebounded in a big way. First-year manager Antonio Conte has molded the squad into a champion, and save for a slip-up against Manchester United that cracked the door open for Tottenham on April 16, the Blues have had a stranglehold on the top of the table. A fifth consecutive win would seal the deal and cement a season sweep for Chelsea of West Brom, with Diego Costa's 76th-minute goal the difference in a 1-0 win back on Dec. 11 at Stamford Bridge.

With one win in its last nine games, West Brom will look to play spoiler and prevent Chelsea from celebrating at The Hawthorns.
