Borussia Dortmund have long been known for their quality in developing world-class young players, but their profile’s been raised more and more recently with the signing and success of players like Christian Pulisic, Ousmane Dembele, Alexander Isak, and more. Their success with kids doesn’t just come at the first-team level, though, and they’re chock full of talent throughout the youth ranks.
Dortmund’s U19s beat Maccabi Haifa’s U19 team 1-0 in the UEFA Youth League knockout rounds, and they got their lone goal from another one of those young talents, right back Julian Schwermann.
Schwermann takes the volley on the bounce, re-adjusting his body well to sweep home a laser past the Maccabi goalkeeper and give his side the win. A German U18 international, it’s probably worth keeping an eye on his development.
Maybe just keep an eye on the entire Dortmund youth program.
