Brazilian striker admits cocaine use

Botafogo striker Jobson risks a life ban from football after

failing two dope tests in less than a month and admitting he used

cocaine.

Jobson told SporTV he had used the illicit substance and

“deserves to be punished, but not banned” indefinitely from the

sport because of his “mistake.”

The 21-year-old forward first tested positive for cocaine

after the team’s 2-0 victory against Coritiba on Nov. 8 and then

after a 2-1 win over Palmeiras on Dec. 6, when he scored.

Jobson, whose fate will be decided by a disciplinary

committee meeting, could be handed a life ban.

The speedy striker was one of the greatest up-and-coming

players this season and had already reached an agreement to play

for Cruzeiro next year.
