Blackpool draws 1-1 with Newcastle

Relegation-threatened Blackpool ended a three-match losing run

by coming from behind to draw 1-1 against Newcastle thanks to an

equalizer by top scorer DJ Campbell.

The striker flicked home a corner by Charlie Adam in the 32nd

minute for his 10th goal of the season, with the ball just crossing

the line before Newcastle defender Jose Enrique cleared.

The visitors took the lead in the 17th when Joey Barton

dispossessed Adam and fed Peter Lovenkrands, whose shot found the

corner from 20 yards (meters).

Blackpool, which deserved all three points from a dominant

display at Bloomfield Road, climbed provisionally out of the

relegation zone and into 17th place, above Wigan. Newcastle is in

midtable and safe from the drop.
