Bermuda beat Barbados 2-1 in WCup qualifier

Khano Smith and Kwame Steede scored to help Bermuda rally for a

2-1 win Friday over 10-man Barbados in a qualifier for the 2014

World Cup.

Bermuda missed a host of chances to increase the scoreline in

what became a largely one-sided affair after Barbados goalkeeper

Jason Boxhill was sent off in the 25th minute.

Diquan Adamson had given Barbados the lead in the seventh minute

with a shot past goalkeeper Mikkail Crockwell.

But Boxhill brought down Damon Ming inside the area to earn a

red card, and Smith converted the penalty in the 28th. Steede

scored the winner in the 50th, taking a cross from Quadir Maynard

at the back post and volleying the ball past substitute goalkeeper

Bentley Springer.
