Benfica beats Portimonense 3-1 to go atop Portuguese table

LISBON, Portugal (AP) Franco Cervi scored twice to lead Benfica past Portimonense 3-1 to move to the top of the Portuguese league on Saturday.

Benfica went one point clear of FC Porto, which has two games in hand. Sporting Lisbon is three points behind with one game to play.

Cervi put Benfica in front with a goal in the sixth minute, and the Argentine midfielder restored the defending champion's lead after Felipe Macedo equalized with a header in the 65th.

Andrija Zivkovic added to the result with a third goal for Benfica five minutes into stoppage time.

Also, fourth-place Braga beat Setubal 3-1, while Rio Ave defeated Maritimo 3-0.
