Bayern keeper Butt may play another season

Veteran Bayern Munich goalkeeper Hans-Joerg Butt says he may

continue his career into next season but won’t make a decision

until the summer.

The 36-year-old Butt was benched in favor of the younger Thomas

Kraft midway through this season by outgoing Bayern coach Louis van

Gaal.

But Butt, who was a reserve keeper for Germany at last year’s

World Cup, told Bayern’s website Tuesday that ”I can certainly

imagine continuing to play next year.”

Butt’s contract expires at the end of the season. The player

says he will wait to see how ”sporting developments” pan out and

then make a decision with the club and new coach Jupp Heynckes.
