Vidal close to new Juventus deal

Arturo Vidal is close to signing an improved deal with Juventus, according to club general director Giuseppe Marotta.

The Chile midfielder was strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer after his impressive performances helped Juve win back-to-back Serie A titles.

"Vidal’s contract extension is imminent," Marotta told

Vidal is expected to put pen to paper on a contract that will keep him with the Turin giants until June 2018.

The 26-year-old scored 15 goals and set up a further 11 in all competitions last season.

Vidal joined Juve in 2011 from Bayer Leverkusen in a nine million euros transfer deal.
