Juventus backs Conte’s ref criticisms

Juventus has come out in support of coach Antonio Conte following his comments against refereeing decisions after the 0-0 draw at Parma in the Serie A.

Conte was left fuming after Juve had two penalty shouts turned down on Wednesday, and he accused referees of being too ”scared to give penalties to Juve.”

On Thursday, the club released an official statement in which it says it ”reasserts and supports” Conte’s comments, adding it hopes ”equal treatment will always be applied.”

Juventus has been awarded only one penalty this season, and conceded four.

Conte hinted at a conspiracy against his team after the Parma game, and said ”it’s impossible that after 22 rounds of leading Serie A there isn’t a team until you get to the Lega Pro (third division), which has had less penalties than us.”
