Ajaccio names Bracconi as interim coach

Christian Bracconi will be Ajaccio’s interim coach until the new

year, replacing the fired Fabrizio Ravanelli.

Bracconi, who is the club’s youth academy director, will take

charge of the final seven matches until the winter break, and

possibly more if he is a success.

Ajaccio president Alain Orsoni says ”it is an interim solution

so that we don’t rush to find a new coach.”

Ravanelli was fired after the team lost 3-1 to Valenciennes to

drop to 19th place in the French league on Saturday.

Bracconi says ”nobody wanted the current situation but

unfortunately the directors needed to act. It’s difficult but not

desperate. I am going to rely on the quality of the squad, there is

enough there to reverse this run.”
