Injury boost for Beckham

England and AC Milan have received a boost with the news that David

Beckham has recovered from a bruised right ankle bone.

The Los Angles Galaxy star had trouble with his ankle in the

run-up to the mls Cup final in November, which his side lost to

Real Salt Lake on penalties.

The midfielder has since returned to Milan on loan to boost

his chances of making England’s World Cup squad after a successful

stint at the Italian club last season.

The club’s doctor, Massimo Manara, reported on Tuesday that

Beckham is now in fine fettle after his second day of training

since returning to the Serie A side.

Manara told the club’s in-house television channel: “I found

David Beckham really well.

“Even though a year has passed, he looked to be at the same

level as a year ago to me.

“The problem he had with his right foot in previous weeks is

resolved.”
