Marcus Holmgren Pedersen - Finds spot in starting XI Pederson (illness) is in the starting XI for Saturday's match against Frosinone.
Impact Pederson will miss no time with his current problems, as he has made the starting XI after shaking off an illness he picked up earlier this week. The defender should be expected to remain in a starting role from here on out, as he has now started in 12 straight contests, recording six interceptions, 22 tackles and 29 clearances in the defense to go along with seven chances created, seven crosses and two assists in the attack over that span.
MARCH 9, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Marcus Holmgren Pedersen - Questionable for Cagliari contest Pedersen "is under the weather and couldn't practice on Friday," coach Davide Ballardini relayed.
Impact Pedersen will attempt to shake off the flu in the time left before the game. Otherwise, Sassuolo will have to turn to Filippo Missori or Ruan at the position since Jeremy Toljan (thigh) is out.
MARCH 8, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Jeremy Toljan - Ruled out for Frosinone tilt Toljan (thigh) "won't be present for Saturday's match versus Frosinone," coach Davide Ballardini informed.
Impact Toljan made the twice in two recent home games but has yet to fully overcome a thigh strain he picked up back in October. Marcus Pedersen (illness) or Filippo Missori will replace him at right-back.
MARCH 8, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Mattia Viti - Sidelined for Frosinone game Viti (thigh) "is hurt," coach Davide Balardini informed.
Impact Viti will skip his fourth in a row as his thigh injury is significant and might not return next week either. Martin Erlic and Gianmarco Ferrari are the favorites to start.
MARCH 8, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Jeremy Toljan - Unused in Verona match Toljan (thigh) didn't play in Sunday's 1-0 defeat against Verona.
Impact Toljan made the game-day squad list for the second time in a week but once again didn't get minutes. He'll look to improve physically in training and will probably be eased into action at first after missing more than a month due to a thigh strain.

Italy forward Domenico Berardi to miss Euro 2024 with ruptured Achilles tendon
Marcus Holmgren Pedersen - Poor showing versus Verona Pedersen registered one shot (zero on goal) in Sunday's 1-0 defeat to Verona.
Impact Pedersen took a shot for only the third time this year as he also chipped in with four clearances and a block on the defensive end. After starting the season as a rotational player, he has played the full 90 minutes in the last 11 matches for Sassuolo, although Jeremey Toljan is nearing a return from his thigh injury and may start taking some of Pedersen's minutes.
MARCH 4, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Kristian Thorstvedt - Middling production in loss Thorstvedt registered three shots (one on goal) and one chance created in Sunday's 1-0 defeat to Verona.
Impact Thorsvedt had a decent game going forward, with three shots and a chance created but he did next to nothing on the defensive end despite playing in a box-to-box midfield role. He will look to make a bigger impact against a Frosinone side who have conceded the most goals this season with 56 put past them.
MARCH 4, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Armand Lauriente - Six shots versus Verona Lauriente had six shots (one on goal), six crosses (zero accurate) and six corners in Sunday's 1-0 loss versus Verona.
Impact Lauriente took a season-high six shots while equalling his season-best for corners taken with six. He was rather wasteful in the final third with only one shot finding the frame while breaking his five game streak with at least one chance created. He will look to get back amongst the goals in the coming weeks as has played 80+ minutes in each of the past six matches.
MARCH 4, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Andrea Consigli - Four saves in defeat Consigli recorded four saves and allowed one goal in Sunday's 1-0 defeat to Verona.

MARCH 4, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Domenico Berardi - Poised for surgery Berardi has been diagnosed with a complete tear of the right Achilles tendon and will go under the knife Tuesday, Sassuolo announced.
Impact Berardi will miss the remainder of the campaign and likely part of the next one as well, as the standard timetable is lengthy. Sassuolo can turn to Samu Castillejo, Nedim Bajrami, Cristian Volpato and Gregoire Defrel in his role, as they have done during his recent knee injury, but they they haven't been very convincing.

Impact Berardi was making his return from a knee injury and looked pretty good but went down in a heap after planting his foot wrong in the second half and was quickly carried off the pitch. The initial diagnosis is grim. He's headed for further tests to confirm it. If that's the case, he'll be out for the rest of the season and a good chunk of the next one.
MARCH 3, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Mattia Viti - Out for Verona clash Viti is absent for Sunday's match against Verona, the Serie A site confirmed.

Jeremy Toljan - Makes bench for Verona game Toljan (thigh) is available for Sunday's tilt against Verona.
Impact Toljan makes a quick return to the game-day squad list after being left out midweek likely to manage his workload in training after a significant thigh injury. He hasn't played since early January. He has better chances of getting minutes than last week.
MARCH 3, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Mattia Viti - Doubtful for Verona game Viti (thigh) will likely remain sidelined for Sunday's match against Verona, Quotidiano Sportivo informed.
Impact Viti is probably headed for his third straight game on the mend due to a muscular issue whose extent hasn't been fully specified by his team. Martin Erlic (thigh) returned on the bench midweek and could resume starting over Ruan in this one.
MARCH 2, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Jeremy Toljan - Might be option against Verona Toljan (thigh) was spotted in training ahead of Sunday's clash with Verona, La Gazzetta dello Sport informed.
Impact Toljan was back on the bench after a lengthy absence in the past weekend and was likely given some time to work on his conditioning, missing the midweek make-up game. If available, he could impact Marcus Pedersen's playing time.
MARCH 2, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Martin Erlic - Doesn't feature versus Napoli Erlic (thigh) didn't come off the bench in Wednesday's 6-1 loss to Napoli.
Impact Erlic was available after missing two games but wasn't risked in a tilt that quickly went sideways for his club. If in good enough shape, he'll replace Ruan in the XI for the Verona match on Sunday. He has logged 15 clearances, two interceptions and two blocks in his last five showings, with one clean sheet.
MARCH 1, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Domenico Berardi - Unused against Napoli Berardi (knee) didn't feature in Wednesday's 1-6 loss to Napoli.
Impact Berardi was back on the bench after sitting out five matches but didn't get minutes, even in garbage time, as he hadn't totally recovered yet. If he shows better in training, he could make the XI in the Verona game Sunday. Nedim Bajrami has logged the most minutes among his possible replacements but could move to other positions.
MARCH 1, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Armand Lauriente - Decent production in loss Lauriente registered two shots (zero on goal), seven crosses (one accurate) and three corners in Wednesday's 6-1 loss versus Napoli.
Impact Lauriente took multiple shots for the third time in his last four matches while crossing seven times as he extended his barren spell without a goal or assist to four games. He will look to bounce back with a decisive performance against fellow relegation contenders Verona next time out.
FEBRUARY 29, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
