Hurts ankle on international duty Ruidiaz has reportedly suffered an ankle injury while playing for Peru on Tuesday, according to Jeremiah Oshan of Sounder At Heart.

Impact Ruidiaz was already out for Tuesday's draw with FC Cincinnati while playing for his country but this injury comes at a bad time with the regular season coming to a close. His status will certainly be in doubt for Sunday's trip to Sporting KC, which could mean Fredy Montero, who started while Ruidiaz and Jordan Morris were away for international duty, could hold onto his spot in the starting XI.

Impact Ruidiaz injected some urgency to his side's attack upon his introduction but he hasn't scored in MLS since just after the June international break. This is largely due to the fact that he's missed eight games in that span with a hamstring injury, but he'll have a week before the next match against RSL in order to continue regaining fitness.
