Rumor: PSG to Manchester United // Likelihood: Not happening // The Talk: This new and old story has already been put to bed by the man himself. The PSG defender reckons Manchester United and Barcelona wanted to sign him in the summer but his heart is already set on signing a new deal with the French champions. Step aside Van Gaal, this Brazilian ain’t ready to rumble at Old Trafford.

Rumor: Monaco to Valencia // Likelihood: Another team not in the Champions League -- it’s on! // The Talk: So, we’re all coming to the conclusion that Manchester United will not take up their option to sign anonymous striker Falcao on a permanent basis. His agent, Jorge Mendes, is thought to be ready to hold talks with United about the deal, with Valencia waiting in the wings. Do they have the cash? Well, Peter Lim recently took over the club and could splash the cash in the summer. Juventus and PSG have also been linked with the Colombian, but let’s see what happens at United first.

Rumor: Barcelona to Manchester City // Likelihood: Say what? // The Talk: Call the doctor someone! The ever fanciful Daily Mail is in need of medical attention after claiming City are considering making a $153 million offer for Suarez, whose two goals against Manuel Pellegrini’s side have virtually sealed Barcelona’s place in the last eight of the Champions League. They also claim that an Aguero-Suarez swap is not out of the question. Firstly, Barca have a transfer embargo so would not be able to register a player until January. Secondly, what would be the point of exchanging one great striker for another?

Rumor: Sevilla to Tottenham // Likelihood: Unlikely // The Talk: Tottenham have heard good things about Bacca and sent their chief scout to watch him in Europa League action against Borussia Monchengladbach during which he opened the scoring for Sevilla. The Colombian has scored 14 goals in La Liga this season, the sort of return Spurs had been hoping for from Roberto Soldado. The problem for Spurs is that 29-year-old Bacca signed a new contract last year and his get-out clause is around $34 million -- not the sort of money chairman Daniel Levy likes parting with for a player with little sell-on fee. Spurs face competition from Newcastle though.

Rumor: Hamburg to Sporting Kansas City // Likelihood: Interest is there // The Talk: Hamburg will not renew the contract of Rafael van der Vaart which has alerted Sporting Kansas City to the possibility of bringing the Dutchman to MLS. CEO Robb Heineman confirmed he watched Van der Vaart at the weekend but unfortunately only witnessed an 11-minute substitute display. Heineman was also there to hold talks, but Hamburg FC expert Daniel Busch expects offers from Italy, Spain and Ajax. Can Heineman turn it on enough to convince RVdV?

Rumor: Manchester City to Liverpool // Likelihood: Would they sell? // The Talk: Poor Jovetic. Demoted from Manchester City’s Champions League squad and now the man who replaced him -- Wilfried Bony -- can’t even get in the starting line-up. Jovetic has been linked with a move to Liverpool, but would it be wise for City to sell to Liverpool, who potentially could finish above the Citizens at the end of the season? Our guess is that Jovetic will end up far away from the Premier League where his talent might be appreciated.

Rumor: Inter Milan to Premier League // Likelihood: Nope // The Talk: Chelsea and Manchester United have both been linked with a move for the prolific Inter Milan marksman, who is joint top scorer in Serie A. Inter Milan director Piero Ausilio says the price tag for the Argentine is more than $46 million but in any case he’s not for sale. Expect him to sign a new lucrative contract in the coming days -- even if he is getting bombarded with texts by Jose Mourinho.

Rumor: Tottenham to Chelsea // Likelihood: Only if Cech leaves -- and even then // The Talk: Friedel’s career is undoubtedly in fade mode -- or is it? The 43-year-old goalkeeper is third choice at Tottenham but a story in the Metro (a throwaway newspaper akin to My Little Pony) suggests Chelsea could make a move for the veteran. Really? Isn’t there another goalkeeper the Premier League champions-in-waiting could sign as a replacement for Petr Cech?

Rumor: Liverpool to Orlando City // Likelihood: Woah! // The Talk: How do you solve a problem like Mario? We’re starting to wonder. The Italian may have the ability to entertain off the pitch but it’s his performances on it that has had Brendan Rodgers scratching his head. The latest rumor is that Orlando City would like to unite Balotelli with Kaka at the new MLS franchise. Let’s not forget, Divock Origi will be at Anfield next season which means Balotelli would probably be even further down the pecking order. It’s hard to think who would want Mario these days.

Rumor: Manchester City to Juventus // Likelihood: Possible // The Talk: Manchester City’s end-of-season slide suggests that it could be a rollercoaster summer for their squad – and possibly their manager. One of the criticisms about City’s displays against Barcelona and Liverpool was that the midfielders were too high up the pitch throughout the game ie they have too many players with attack on their minds. The talk is that Nasri is heading to Juventus as a replacement for Real Madrid-bound Paul Pogba. That would free up Isco to join City. That’s what we call a merry-go-round!
