Johnson struck after 18 minutes to spark Mönchengladbach to a 2-0 victory over Paderborn on Sunday. His goal after 18 minutes stood up as the match-winner before Patrick Hermann secured the points with his late second. Mönchengladbach now holds a four-point advantage over Bayer Leverkusen for the third and final direct berth into the Champions League next season.

Tomas Rosicky condemned Everton to another defeat with the second a minute before full time. The setback leaves Roberto Martinez’s side just six points clear of the relegation zone.

Tijuana roared back from a 2-0 deficit to claim a 3-2 triumph over 10-man Pachuca at Estadio Caliente on Friday. Dayro Moreno procured the decisive goal in second-half stoppage time to open up a three-point lead atop Liga MX after eight rounds. Corona replaced the injured Garza four minutes before halftime for the home side.
