THE MIRACLE LEAGUE SAN DIEGO PRESENTS HOMERUN DERBY AT BELL MIDDLE SCHOOL

Miracle League of San Diego provides children with special needs the opportunity to play baseball in an organized league at two locations in San Diego County: Engel Family Field, a Little Padres Park in San Dieguito Park, Del Mar and Bell Middle School. They have both Spring and Fall seasons at both fields and accommodate players ages five and up. Every player is matched with a buddy for the entire season and each buddy is paired with the played based on his or her unique needs.

Each Spring, Miracle League of San Diego holds their Home Run Derby at Engel Family Field. This year, they are excited to announce they will be holding a home run derby at their second location, Bell Middle School. This event is open to all interested parties including players, buddies, coaches, friends, community members and more, as they strive for active participation and support of Miracle League’s biggest fundraiser. All Miracle League of San Diego players may participate for free. Their goal is to continue using the money they raise to provide their Miracle League families with the best resources and experiences possible. This year’s home run derby at Bell Middle School will be hosted on Saturday, April 13, 2019.

BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS IS FOX SPORTS SAN DIEGO’S COMMUNITY PARTNER OF THE MONTH FOR APRIL PRESENTED BY KAISER PERMANENTE

For more than 100 years nationally and 57 locally, Big Brothers Big Sisters has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. As the nation’s largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 7 through 18, in communities across the country. We develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people. Research has shown that positive relationships between Littles and their Bigs have a direct and measurable impact on children’s lives.

Currently, there are over 650 children in San Diego waiting for a Big Brother or Big Sister. Join us in supporting San Diego’s kids by volunteering or giving today!
