FOX Sports San Diego celebrates Military Opening Day presented by Northrop Grumman

San Diego – FOX Sports San Diego (FSSD) will celebrate 2015 Padres Military Opening Day presented by Northrop Grumman today, by pulling out all the stops to honor our local servicemen and women.

An extended Padres Live pregame show, hosted by Mike Pomeranz and Mark Sweeney, will feature live coverage of the Padres on-field Military Opening Day ceremonies, as well as an interview with Northrop Grumman’s Jim Zortman, sector vice president and site manager of the Unmanned Systems Center of Excellence.

In addition, FOX Sports San Diego will provide transportation to the game for Marines, Sailors and their families from the Armed Services YMCA Camp Pendleton by means of the FOX Sports San Diego Fan Express. The 55-person, branded motor coach will bring the service men and women right up to the gates of "Park at the Park" and will be greeted by the FOX Sports San Diego Girls, Katie and Brie and Pad Squad members.

San Diego Padres personnel plan to escort the Marines, Sailors and their families to participate in the on-field pre-game ceremony and then to their seats. The atmosphere surrounding Military Opening Day presented by Northrop Grumman promises to leave a lasting memory on San Diego’s military community once again.

New this season, Northrop Grumman will be sponsoring FOX Sports San Diego’s monthly base trips to San Diego Padres games. The Fan Express will visit military bases around San Diego including Camp Pendleton, Air Force Base Miramar, Navy Base Coronado and more.
