Ducks recall Enroth, Kerdiles From Gulls

The Anaheim Ducks turned to the San Diego Gulls, the Ducks’ primary affiliate within the American Hockey League (AHL), for depth in the net and at wing on Wednesday, recalling Gulls goaltender Jhonas Enroth and Nicolas Kerdiles.

Enroth put together an impressive stat line after joining the Gulls via trade on Jan. 10, 2017.

In his first six games in San Diego, Enroth posted a 6-0-0 record with a 1.17 goals-against average (GAA) and .957 save percentage (SV%) en route to being named the AHL’s Goaltender of the Month. He then played in six more games, rounding out his stay in San Diego with a 10-2-0 record, two shutouts, a 1.42 GAA and .944 SV%.

Prior to his 12-game stint with the Gulls, Enroth earned a 50-69-16 record, seven shutouts, a 2.84 GAA and .909 SV% in 153 career games with four different NHL teams, none of which being the Ducks.

Enroth joins Ducks goaltenders John Gibson and Jonathan Bernier in the crease.

Unlike Enroth, Kerdiles made his NHL debut in the Ducks' 5-3 win over the Boston Bruins on Wednesday. He had two blocks and two giveaways in 11:08 on the ice.

Kerdiles, a Texas native raised in Irvine, Calif., accrued 66 points in 112 career AHL games with the Norfolk Admirals (2013-15) and the Gulls (2015-17) after being selected 36th overall by the Ducks in the 2012 NHL Draft.

Before taking AHL ice, Kerdiles won gold at the Under-18 World Junior Championships in 2011 and 2012.

Kerdiles and Enroth will have their next opportunity to take the ice with the Ducks against the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday, Feb. 25.
