Apr 03, 2012; Vancouver, BC, CANADA; Anaheim Ducks forward Devante Smith-Pelly (77) celebrates after a goal against Vancouver Canucks goaltender Roberto Luongo (not pictured) during the second period at Rogers Arena.
Devante Smith-Pelly may only be twenty-two years old, but he has seen more of the ice than a lot of NHL players in the league. After being drafted by the Ducks in 2010, Smith-Pelly has worked hard to show the program what he is made of, especially this season. The young athlete stood out in the post season last year with five goals in twelve games and has continued to shine this season with three goals and four assists in his seventeen appearances thus far.
During the off-season, Devante enjoys spending time in his home town of Toronto, where he is an avid Blue Jays fan, even though he still shows support for the Ducks’ neighbors, the Angels. He also joined Matt Beleskey during some down time this season to visit an Irvine elementary school and read to its students. Smith-Pelly consistently updates his Twitter and Instagram accounts with fun facts about what he is up to when he isn’t on the ice. Watch Devante Smith-Pelly continue to shine with the rest of the Anaheim Ducks this season on FOX Sports San Diego, home of the Ducks!
