FOX MLB Analyst David “Big Papi” Ortiz Steps to the Plate for FOX Bet Super 6

Free-To-Play App Welcomes 10-time MLB All-Star and 3-time World Series Champion

New York – Boston Red Sox legend and current FOX MLB analyst David “Big Papi” Ortiz will join the FOX Bet team for the remainder of the 2021 season, offering his unique, playful and spot-on insight for the highly anticipated MLB All-Star game, and postseason this fall.

FOX Bet Super 6, a free-to-play app where users make six predictions about what they think will happen in live games, races or events, introduces the “Win Big Papi’s Money” contest this Saturday, June 19. Users will have a chance to win real cash via the “Win Big Papi’s Money” contest every MLB weekend for the remainder of the 2021 MLB regular season and postseason. Additionally, Ortiz will make contributions to the FOX Bet real-money Sportsbook app.

“I love working for FOX Sports and joining the FOX Bet team is just a natural progression for me,” said Ortiz. “I can’t wait to give my insights to all the fans out there and give them a chance to win some cash,” said Ortiz.

The in-game “Win Big Papi’s Money” contest poses 6 questions pertaining to what will transpire in innings 7, 8 and 9 of a given baseball game. Users compete for a guaranteed cash prize, that will range each week throughout the MLB season.

“David – Big Papi – is one of the most popular players in the history of baseball. He brings such fun and wisdom to the FOX MLB experience, and this is the most natural, perfect fit to enter the FOX Bet lineup,” said FOX Bet CMO, Andrew Schneider. “As Super 6 continues to grow, Big Papi is going to bring his signature style to even more fans on our popular platform.”

Ortiz is a three-time World Series Champion and former World Series MVP. Throughout his playing career, Ortiz earned 10 All-Star Game selections and seven Silver Slugger Awards, amassing 541 home runs, 2,472 hits and 1,768 RBIs. Ortiz retired in 2016 and as a tribute to his success in Boston, the Red Sox retired his jersey (No. 34) in 2017. He contributes to FOX Sports’ regular season, All-Star Game and MLB Postseason coverage. Ortiz made his broadcasting debut with FOX Sports as a guest studio analyst during the 2014 World Series and has continued to appear on the network since his retirement.

The United States Football League Returns in 2022

FOX Sports to Serve as Official Broadcast Partner for the USFL

Los Angeles – Today, the United States Football League (USFL) announced that the league will officially return in the spring of 2022.

Initially launched in 1983, the USFL originally was an upstart spring football league consisting of 12 teams which featured some of the most exciting and recognizable young football stars in the country. When relaunched next year, the new USFL retains rights to key original team names.

The league will target a minimum of eight teams and deliver high-quality, innovative professional football to fans throughout the spring season.

“I’m extremely passionate about football and the opportunity to work with FOX Sports and to bring back the USFL in 2022 was an endeavor worth pursuing,” said Brian Woods, co-founder of the new USFL and founder and CEO of The Spring League (TSL). “We look forward to providing players a new opportunity to compete in a professional football league and giving fans everywhere the best football viewing product possible during what is typically a period devoid of professional football.”

FOX Sports will serve as the official broadcast partner for the USFL. FOX Sports also owns a minority equity stake in the company that owns the USFL.

“The relaunch of the USFL is a landmark day for football fans and FOX Sports,” said Eric Shanks, CEO and Executive Producer, FOX Sports. “Football is in our DNA and the return of this innovative and iconic league is a fantastic addition to our robust slate of football programming.”

More information on the USFL, including cities, teams, head coaches, and game schedules, will be announced at a later date.
