Former Patriots and Navy SEAL Physician’s Proven Performance Technology Company Brings Next-Gen Insights to FOX Sports App, Website and Social Media Platforms

LOS ANGELES – FOX Sports is collaborating with renowned orthopedist Dr. Matt Provencher and his company Proven Performance Technology (PPT) to deliver data-driven injury insights to football fans. In this first-of-a-kind role as Athlete Injury and Performance Analyst for the network’s digital platforms, Provencher provides important predictive player performance and recovery information about post-injury performance, the impact of weather, field conditions and more — serving hometown team loyalists, fantasy league owners and wagering interests.

Provencher first created the core algorithm for PPT’s proprietary insights while working as the Navy Special Forces (SEAL Teams) Head Orthopedic/Sports Surgeon for more than a decade. He then took those insights into his role as the New England Patriots head team physician before moving on to co-found PPT and assemble a team of world-class data scientists and technologists with more than 50 years of collective professional sports league experience.

“It is an honor to join FOX Sports’ team during this unprecedented chapter in sports,” said Dr. Provencher. “Based on the lessons my team and I have learned supporting the SEAL teams and previous Super Bowl champions, our core values of data integrity and actionable analytics match perfectly with FOX Sports’ commitments to innovation and serving the fan.”

Connected to FOX Sports’ extensive NFL and college football coverage this fall, Provencher appears on the new FOX Sports app, and the FOX Sports social platforms.

“Player health and injury insights are incredibly important this football season,” said David Katz, Executive Vice President and Head of Digital, FOX Sports. “Dr. Provencher has the hands-on experience as well as proprietary data and analytics to help our fans better understand injury timelines, treatments and player productivity upon return.”

Captain Matthew T. Provencher, MD, MC, USNR (Ret.) attended the United States Naval Academy, where he was appointed the Deputy Brigade Commander (Second in command) and graduated with Distinction (Highest Honors). He was also a four-year varsity oarsman and First Team All-American at Navy. He completed his medical education at Dartmouth Medical School where he graduated with honors.
