Voting to Decide the Best Fanbase Begins Saturday Night on Twitter at @CBBONFOX
NEW YORK – FOX Sports crowns the best college basketball fans in the land with the FOX Sports Ultimate Fan Bracket: College Hoops Edition. Resident hoops fanatics Mark Titus and Tate Frazier unveil the 68-team bracket with a one-hour special Saturday, April 4, at 11:00 PM ET on FS1. Voting on Twitter begins immediately following at @CBBONFOX. The winning school receives a trophy and a celebratory billboard in the territory of the rival team’s campus.
The 68-team bracket is comprised of one automatic bid from each Division I conference, plus 32 at-large selections and a First Four chosen by the selection committee. The automatic bids are the most-followed men’s basketball programs from each conference, while the at-large squads are the next 32 programs with the highest men’s basketball Twitter followings. Teams go head-to-head, round-by-round in a battle to determine college basketball fan supremacy.
“College hoops fans have an intense passion for their programs, and this provides a fun way to show their fandom,” said Michael Bucklin, VP of Digital Content, FOX Sports. “It’s also a much-needed way to demonstrate that passion without live hoops. Like the tournament itself, we expect some upsets, some Cinderellas, and some blue bloods to make deep runs. We can’t wait to see who comes out on top.”
Last year, FOX Sports launched its first Fan Bracket Challenge, pitting the NFL’s fan bases against one another. The campaign attracted millions of votes and concluded with a long-awaited title for fans of the Cleveland Browns.
“Ohio State fans have been known as ‘The Best Damn Fans in The Land’ for years, which is why it feels almost too perfect that FOX Sports is letting me host a show in which the Buckeyes will ultimately be crowned champion,” added Titus.
