FOX Sports Announces 2020 ABB FIA Formula E Championship Television Schedule

Broadcast Season Highlighted by 11 Live Events
Round 12 Live from Brooklyn on FOX

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Coming off the December season-opening Rounds 1 and 2 from Saudi Arabia, FOX Sports sets its 2020 television schedule for the fully electric ABB FIA Formula E Championship, highlighted by a total of 11 live events*, and continuing this weekend with Round 3 from Santiago, Chile on FS2.

Host Vernon Kay is joined by play-by-play announcer Jack Nicholls, four-time IndyCar champion and three-time Indy 500 winner Dario Franchitti and reporter Nicki Shields.

Former F1 mechanic and author Steve Matchett hosts FOX Sports’ Formula E coverage throughout the season, adding his unique brand of technical insight.

Envision Virgin Racing’s Sam Bird scooped the first win of the season in Round 1 of the Diriyah E-Prix from Saudi Arabia, with BMWi Andretti Motorsport’s Alexander Sims taking Round 2 a day later in Diriyah.

In its sixth season of competition, Formula E continues with the Gen-2 car, as well as welcoming a pair of powerhouse manufacturers in Mercedes-Benz EQ and Porsche, bringing the total list of zero-emission entries to 12.

LOS ANGELES – Today, FOX Sports announces former IBF Cruiserweight Champion and Philadelphia-native Steve Cunningham joins legendary trainer Joe Goossen and Brian Kenny to call FOX PBC FIGHT NIGHT: JULIAN WILLIAMS VS. JEISON ROSARIO PRELIMS live on FS1 Saturday, Jan. 18 (6:30 PM ET). The main card continues at 8:00 PM ET live on FOX and FOX Deportes, with former undisputed heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis calling the fights with Goossen and Kenny. In addition, former IBF and WBC Welterweight Champion Andre Berto serves as an analyst with host Kate Abdo for the FOX PBC WEIGH-IN on FS1 on Friday, Jan. 17 (6:00 PM ET).

The first FOX PBC FIGHT NIGHT of 2020 is headlined by unified 154-pound champion and Philadelphia-native Julian “J-Rock” Williams making a homecoming title defense against hard-hitting contender Jeison Rosario from Temple University’s Liacouras Center. Boxing begins on FS1 and FOX Deportes with the 90-minute FOX PBC FIGHT NIGHT PRELIMS at 6:30 PM ET featuring three more exciting bouts.

FOX Sports Inks Agreement with the Mountain West Conference

LOS ANGELES – FOX Sports has reached a six-year media rights agreement with the Mountain West, marking the first-ever relationship between the network and the Conference. Beginning in 2020-21 and running through 2025-26, FOX Sports will broadcast a robust selection of MW content.

FOX Sports will have exclusive rights to Boise State home football games and to the Mountain West Football Championship game, which will be televised annually on the FOX family of networks. In addition, a full slate of MW football and men’s basketball games will be carried each year across the various FOX Sports linear platforms.

“FOX Sports is pleased to add the Mountain West to our roster of top-tier collegiate athletics partnerships,” said FOX Sports President, National Networks, Mark Silverman. “We look forward to showcasing these exceptional programs, coaches and student-athletes in the years to come.”

“The Mountain West is excited to begin this next cycle with FOX Sports as a new partner,” said MW Commissioner Craig Thompson. “The relationship allows us to be part of the network’s growing collegiate programming and we look forward to working together toward mutual success. This agreement positions us well now and for the future.”

St. John’s Legend Chris Mullin Joins FOX College Hoops Studio This Weekend

NEW YORK – St. John’s legend Chris Mullin joins the FOX College Hoops studio this weekend, sitting alongside host Rob Stone and analyst Donny Marshall on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 10-11. Stone, Marshall and Mullin provide pregame, halftime and postgame coverage on FOX and FS1 live from the FOX Sports studios in Los Angeles.

Friday’s coverage begins at 6:30 PM ET on FS1 before No. 12 Maryland and Iowa tip off at 7:00 PM ET. The evening’s doubleheader concludes at 9:00 PM ET as Providence hosts No. 6 Butler. Saturday’s pregame coverage is simulcast on FOX and FS1 at 11:30 AM ET prior to a Big Ten matchup between No. 11 Ohio State and Indiana on FOX and a BIG EAST battle between Georgetown and No. 16 Villanova on FS1. The FOX College Hoops doubleheader wraps up at 2:00 PM ET when Xavier hosts Creighton on FOX.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mullin’s storied basketball career has come full circle in New York. A three-time BIG EAST Player of the Year for St. John’s, he spent 16 years in the NBA with the Golden State Warriors (1985-97 and 2000-01) and Indiana Pacers (1997-00). He is a two-time Olympic gold medalist as a member of the 1992 “Dream Team” and with the 1984 squad. He has been twice inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame – in 2010 with the Dream Team and in 2011 for his individual career. In 2015, he was named head coach of the St. John’s men’s basketball team, holding the post through the 2019 season when he led the Red Storm to the program’s first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2015.

Klatt, Meyer, Feldman & Leinart Preview College Football Playoff National Championship

One-Hour Special Debuts Thursday at 11:30 PM ET on FS1

NEW YORK – FS1 COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF PREVIEW, featuring host Joel Klatt and analysts Urban Meyer, Bruce Feldman and Matt Leinart, returns Thursday, Jan. 9, at 11:30 PM ET on FS1 ahead of the College Football Playoff National Championship on Monday, Jan. 13.

Thursday’s program features championship game predictions from each of the broadcasters as well as a look back at how Clemson and LSU earned their spots in the season’s final showdown. Feldman takes an early look at next season’s top 10 teams, and Meyer returns to the demo field with the latest edition of “Urban’s Playbook,” examining Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence’s elite skill set.

Schefter Joins FOX Sports as Special Correspondent

Dylan Schefter, Daughter of Adam, Gets the Scoop on BIG EAST Coaches in “Dylan’s Sweet Corner”

NEW YORKDylan Schefter, the 11-year-old daughter of NFL reporter Adam Schefter, joins FOX Sports as a special correspondent on the network’s BIG EAST basketball coverage. Schefter hosts “Dylan’s Sweet Corner,” a regular feature in which she asks the conference’s coaches hard-hitting questions like, “What’s your favorite candy?”

“Dylan’s Sweet Corner” premieres Sunday, Jan. 5, on INSIDE THE BIG EAST at 7:30 PM ET on FS1, when Schefter is joined by Villanova head coach Jay Wright.

No stranger to the microphone, Schefter has already conducted interviews with some of the biggest names in sports. Her one-of-a-kind reporting and ability to ask the questions the public wants to know have disarmed some of the biggest names in sports – even Bill Belichick.

“Dylan’s Sweet Corner” will air regularly during FOX Sports’ coverage of BIG EAST basketball, including pregame coverage and the weekly INSIDE THE BIG EAST studio program.
