Dynamic Duo Brings Fresh Expertise, Personality and Enhanced Fan Interaction

LOS ANGELES – This summer, expert soccer personalities Karina LeBlanc and Aaron West team up to co-host FOX Sports’ “FIFA WOMEN’S WORLD CUP™ NOW” live on Twitter every matchday. LeBlanc is a five-time World Cup™ goalkeeper for Canada, the Head of Concacaf Women’s Football and a studio analyst for FOX Sports’ presentation of this summer’s tournament. West, a video journalist and former Davidson College midfielder is known for his passionate opinions on the game and exploration of its connection to culture at-large. Together, they bring an exceptional range of insight, expertise and love for the sport to the Twitter audience.

From its Paris studio each matchday from Friday, June 7 through Sunday, July 7, FOX Sports, the official FIFA World Cup™ U.S. English-language broadcast rights-holder through 2026, produces and streams the show on Twitter via the @FOXSports and @FOXSoccer accounts. The new program adds more highlights and fan interaction in an updated version of 2018’s successful FIFA WORLD CUP™ NOW, which streamed live during the men’s tournament.

“We want FIFA WOMEN’S WORLD CUP™ NOW to be bold, dynamic and interactive,” said David Katz, Executive Vice President of Digital for FOX Sports. “Karina and Aaron are the perfect ambassadors to engage, inform and inspire the millions of fans who will tune in to this global celebration of soccer. During the month-long tournament, FOX Sports and Twitter will be the place to be.”

“We get to be a voice for people who aren’t in Paris, so they can see and feel and hear it,” said LeBlanc. “We’re going to have fun. We’re going to laugh, and who knows – we might get emotional and make you cry. But the best part is that we get to talk directly to the fans about soccer every day for a month. Perfect, right? Genius. Let’s do it.”

“Twitter is the perfect partner for FIFA WOMEN’S WORLD CUP™ NOW because it’s where I live. It’s where sports live. It’s where I talk about soccer all day long.” added West. “The conversation is always happening live, and it’s instantaneous. You get my crazy soccer thoughts directly to your phone in real-time — this time live on video in front of the Eiffel Tower.”

Featured guests on the show include FOX Sports’ FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019™ on-air personalities such as Alexi Lalas, Aly Wagner and other high-profile broadcasters and celebrities. This live coverage is available in the United States to Twitter’s logged-in and logged-out audiences and can be viewed via @FOXSports and @FOXSoccer on computers, tablets and mobile devices.

In January, FOX Sports and Twitter, following a ground-breaking 2018 FIFA World Cup™ collaboration, announced an expanded relationship for this summer’s FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019™. More details can be found at FOX Sports PressPass.
