Stoops and Young Join Rob Stone, Matt Leinart, Robert Smith and Dave Wannstedt Live from State Fair of Texas

New York – A pair of Big 12 Conference icons – former Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops and former Texas quarterback Vince Young – join FOX Sports’ expanded coverage of the Red River Showdown between Texas and Oklahoma on Saturday, Oct. 6. The network announced today that Stoops and Young are part of a two-hour edition of FOX COLLEGE FOOTBALL PREGAME live from the State Fair of Texas beginning at 10:00 AM ET on FS1 and continuing at 11:00 AM ET on FS1 and the FOX broadcast network.

“We are thrilled to have two of the biggest names in Oklahoma and Texas football history join FOX for our coverage of this storied rivalry,” said Mark Silverman, FOX Sports President, National Networks. “We look forward to hearing their unique perspectives and the stories they have from their days battling for bragging rights at the Cotton Bowl.”

Stoops, who led the Sooners to a national title, 10 Big 12 championships and is the program’s all-time winningest coach, and Young, an All-American and national championship quarterback with the Longhorns, sit alongside FOX Sports studio host Rob Stone and analysts Matt Leinart, Robert Smith and Dave Wannstedt for select segments from the network’s on-site studio outside Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas. Once the game kicks off at 12:00 PM ET on the FOX broadcast network, FOX Sports lead play-by-play announcer Gus Johnson, analyst Joel Klatt and reporter Jenny Taft call the action.

FOX Sports also presents complete coverage of the Red River Showdown on the FOX Sports app, as well as complementary digital coverage beginning with a special edition of Klatt’s Facebook Live show, “Breaking the Huddle presented by Dr Pepper,” on Friday, Oct. 5, from the on-site studio. During the game on Saturday, FOX Sports’ digital offerings include Field Pass content, exclusive PROcast videos, “Gus Johnson’s Call of the Game” and more. After the final whistle, Klatt gives his postgame thoughts on Facebook Live from the broadcast booth, while Taft wraps up the day’s action on “CFB Now presented by Wendy’s,” exclusively on Twitter.

In 2018, FOX Sports televises an impressive lineup of top games from the Big 12, Big Ten and Pac-12 conferences. FOX Sports is also home to the Pac-12 and Big Ten championship games in addition to the Redbox Bowl and San Diego County Credit Union Holiday Bowl.
