Compared to recent World Series Game 1’s, Tuesday night’s contest is up +20% over last year (vs. 10.5/18; New York Mets vs. Kansas City Royals) and is up +58% (vs. 8.0/13; San Francisco Giants vs. Kansas City Royals) over 2014.
World Series Game 1 powered FOX to an easy win across all networks in primetime on Tuesday night and the 12.6 overnight rating is the best-metered market rating for a World Series Game 1 since 2009 (vs. 13.8/22; Philadelphia Phillies vs. New York Yankees), projecting to rank as the network’s highest-rated primetime telecast of the broadcast season.
The local markets performed exceptionally well for Game 1 on Tuesday night. Cleveland led all markets by delivering a staggering 46.5/65 overnight rating/share. Chicago posted a strong 34.1/51.
