Los Angeles – A first-ballot Hall of Famer who won a remarkable five World Series titles and was twice named the World Series’ Most Valuable Player, earning the nickname, “Mr. October,” Reggie Jackson is in studio tonight for FOX Sports’ National League Championship Series Game 5 Pregame Show at 7:00 PM ET on FS1. Jackson joins host Kevin Burkhardt, Alex Rodriguez, Pete Rose and Frank Thomas at the studio desk during the one-hour lead-in to the Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Dodgers matchup.
Jackson is the subject of FOX Sports’ latest original documentary produced in association with Major League Baseball, “The Making of Mr. October,” which premieres Sunday, Oct. 23 on the FOX broadcast network adjacent to regional National Football League broadcasts. Markets receiving a late NFL game (4:00 PM ET) will be shown the one-hour documentary beginning at 3:00 PM ET. Markets receiving an early NFL game (1:00 PM ET) will be shown the documentary beginning at 4:30 PM ET. The film is narrated by Ice Cube and features interviews with Jackson, Rose, Derek Jeter, Julius Erving and Rickey Henderson among others.
Having appeared in the postseason 11 times during his career, Jackson ranks fifth all-time with 18 career playoff home runs, despite doing most of his damage before the introduction of the Divisional Series round. He earned the second of his two World Series MVP honors when he clinched the 1977 Fall Classic for the New York Yankees with a memorable three-homer performance in a Game 6 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Jackson also appears on FOX SPORTS LIVE WITH JAY AND DAN (11:00 PM ET) Thursday night and then returns to FOX Sports on Friday, making appearances on the FS1 daily studio programs to promote the upcoming original documentary about his tremendous playoff success, centering on the aforementioned Game 6 of the 1977 World Series. He is scheduled to make appearances on Friday’s editions of SKIP AND SHANNON: UNDISPUTED (9:30 AM ET), THE HERD WITH COLIN COWHERD (12:00 PM ET) and SPEAK FOR YOURSELF (5:00 PM ET).
