RJ Clifford

RJ Clifford is a regular member of TUF TALK on FS1, the late-night companion show to the UFC reality series THE ULTIMATE FIGHTER. Airing Wednesdays, TUF TALK recaps the evening’s episode of THE ULTIMATE FIGHTER and includes interviews with cast members.

In addition to his work in front of the camera, since 2014 RJ has served as the head writer for FOX Sports’ UFC programming, including UFC TONIGHT, UFC FIGHT NIGHTS, UFC WEIGH-IN SHOWS, UFC PREFIGHT SHOWS and UFC POSTFIGHT SHOWS. In his role, he’s worked directly with the FOX UFC hosts and analysts on scripts and research.

He has more than a decade of experience working in the sport of Mixed Martial Arts and has been a mainstay of fight programming on SiriusXM since the first MMA show on its airwaves back in 2010. He currently hosts MMA Tonight with Super Bowl champion AJ Hawk on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 PM ET – 8:00 PM ET.

He began as a journalist in 2006 at nationally distributed industry leader TapouT Magazine, writing features, editing, designing and guiding the editorial direction of the magazine. He served as the Editor-in-Chief of TapouT Magazine from 2008-2010 and its sister magazine MMA Worldwide. His work as a freelance writer from 2010-2014 could be found in all of the industry’s leading outlets including UFC Magazine, Fight! Magazine, Sherdog.com, ESPN.com and more.

RJ is a retired Mixed Martial Arts fighter who fought professionally in promotions such as STRIKEFORCE and RFA. He holds a record of 4 wins and 3 losses, with three of his four victories coming by way of technical knockout (TKO)

Clifford grew up in Huntington Beach, CA where he attended Marina High School as a varsity wrestler. In his senior year, he qualified for the state championships and earned Orange County All-Star status. He continued wrestling at Goldenwest Community College where he served as team captain and earned All-American honors in 2002. He attended San Francisco State University, majored in history and wrestled on the school’s varsity team.

He currently lives in Long Beach, CA with his wife Vickie and their very loud dogs, Bulldozer and Bruce.
