Soccer Play-by-Play Announcer

Mark Followill works as a play-by-play announcer for FOX Sports. He was most recently part of the world-class broadcast team covering the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™.

Since 2014, Followill has been part of FOX Sports soccer team as a play-by-play announcer for Major League Soccer, United States Men’s and Women’s National team games, Concacaf Gold Cup, UEFA Europa League, 2016 Copa America Centenario, Bundesliga and FIFA U-20 and U-17 World Cups. Followill has also served as a play-by-play announcer for the brand’s college football telecasts since 2012. Followill is in his eighth season as the television play-by-play announcer for FC Dallas.

In addition to his soccer work, Followill is the television play-by-play voice for the Dallas Mavericks, a position he’s held since 2005, calling games on FOX Sports Southwest and TXA 21. Followill has won multiple regional Emmys for On-Camera Talent/Sports Play-by-Play and the Mavericks broadcast has been recognized with multiple regional Emmys for Live Sporting Event in that time.

Followill had previously been the radio play-by-play voice for the Mavericks on 103.3 ESPN Radio from 2001 to 2005. Followill also spent two years prior on 570 KLIF as the studio host of Mavericks radio broadcasts and play-by-play announcer on select broadcasts. He was also the play-by-play announcer for NBC’s men’s and women’s soccer coverage of the 2016 Summer Olympics.

He has also been a play-by-play announcer on college basketball and volleyball telecasts on The Longhorn Network, NFL and NCAA football broadcasts on Sports USA Radio Network and NBA and WNBA games on ESPN Radio. Followill has also been a longtime contributor to popular Dallas radio station KTCK, Sports Radio 1310 The Ticket.

A Dallas native, Mark graduated from Northwest High School in Justin, Texas and attended the University of North Texas in Denton from 1989-1992. He is an avid runner and has worked on events in conjunction with the BMW Dallas Marathon and their support of the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. He and his wife Jennifer reside in Dallas with their two greyhounds and are supporters and contributors to The Greyhound Adoption League of Texas.
