Ian Wright, Arsenal and Crystal Palace legend, serves as a FOX Sports studio analyst for the network’s soccer coverage. He will offer his expert analysis in-studio throughout FOX Sports’ presentation of 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™.
Wright enjoyed an illustrious career with Arsenal, scoring 185 goals, winning a Golden Boot his first season, and earning the title of top scorer for the club six seasons in a row. The Englishman also serves as a studio analyst for BBC Sport, ITV Sport and BT Sport.
Wright spent six years as a forward for Crystal Palace and seven with Arsenal in the same position. He helped lead Arsenal to the Premier League title, both major domestic Cup competitions and the European Cup Winners Cup. Wright played in 581 league games, netting 387 goals for seven clubs in England and Scotland and earning 33 caps for the English national team.
Wright is Arsenal’s second-highest scorer of all time (185 goals) and Crystal Palace’s third-highest (117). For eight years, he held the record for most goals scored for Arsenal. Additionally, he holds the record for most league Cup goals for Arsenal (29) and also set the mark for most consecutive appearances scored in (12).
Wright also competed in the Premier League for West Ham United, the Scottish Premier League for Celtic and the Football League for Burnley and Nottingham Forest.
Following retirement from professional play, Wright transitioned to television and radio analysis of soccer. His sons, Bradley and Shaun Wright-Phillips, also play soccer professionally.
