UCLA beats Cal State Fullerton 8-1 to reach CWS

Rob Rasmussen pitched a two-hitter, Beau Amaral had three hits and four RBIs and UCLA beat Cal State Fullerton 8-1 Sunday night in the deciding third game of the Los Angeles super regional to advance to the College World Series.

Rasmussen (11-2) struck out nine as UCLA (48-14) advanced to Omaha for the third time, and will face Florida in the opener. Tyler Rahmatulla, Cody Regis and Niki Gallego had two hits each for the Bruins.

Dylan Floro (7-2) allowed six runs and eight hits in 6 1-3 innings to take the loss for the Titans (46-18), who won the first game 4-3 Friday before falling 11-7 in 10 innings Saturday.

UCLA, 0-4 in its two previous appearances at Omaha, last advanced to the CWS in 1997.
