TUCSON – The 25th ranked University of Arizona volleyball team dropped a five-set match to No. 10 UCLA Friday evening in front of 1,339 at the McKale Center. Set scores were: 22-25, 25-23, 24-26, 25-15, 16-14.
The back-and-forth match saw 20 total lead changes and the score was tied 35 times as the Bruins were able to muster enough to defeat Arizona on its home court despite trailing late in the fifth set.
Arizona was led again by senior outside hitter Tiffany Owens, who accounted for 23 kills and 23 digs — her third consecutive match recording 20 or more kills and digs. Setter Paige Weber led the offense with 50 assists, while Courtney Karst went for 16 kills and 19 digs.

UA, which couldn’t hang on in set five despite leading 13-10, falls to 3-3 in the Pac-10 and 14-5 overall, while the Bruins go to 13-4 and 3-3 in conference.
Arizona will now look to rebound Saturday night against No. 5 USC.
