Tigers look to improve on defense

AUBURN, Ala.–Despite an 8-5 record last season and a win over Northwestern in the Outback Bowl, the Auburn Tigers are coming off statistically one of the worst defensive years ever for the program.

Allowing over 27 points per game, the focus in spring practice and heading into the fall was on improving the defense at the point of attack.

That means getting more production from the front four and in particular at defensive tackle. With senior Jake Ricks gone the Tigers return just three players with extensive experience in seniors Mike Blanc and Zach Clayton as well as junior Nick Fairley. Clayton has battled injuries much of his career making it a must that he remains healthy this fall for Auburn
