Thrashers still need to work on chemistry

It ended up being the difference between winning and losing in a shootout.

Thrashers goalie Ondrej Pavelec went behind his net to play a puck late in the second period of Saturday’s game Chicago with the Thrashers leading by a goal. He got trapped and the Blackhawks’ Jonathan Toews kicked the puck in front of the goal to Patrick Kane, who put it in a wide open net before Pavelec had any chance of getting back in his crease to tied the score at 4-4.

Chicago won the game 5-4 in a shootout.

On Monday, Pavelec took full responsibility for the play, but coach Craig Ramsay preferred to assign blame elsewhere.
