SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) The athletes who covered more than 70 miles through the Syracuse area while competing in last week’s Ironman event will be getting a second medal for the effort.

The Post-Standard of Syracuse reports (http://bit.ly/1LC1QgA ) that the Ironman organization and the company that made the medals – North Attleboro, Massachusetts-based Ashworth Awards – announced Wednesday they plan to send every finisher a new medal with the Syracuse skyline.
