Spain: 4 arrested at bull festival for assault on activists
MADRID (AP) Police in Spain's northeastern Catalonia region say four people at a bull run spectacle have been arrested after allegedly attacking two animal rights activists who tried to video the event.
The animal rights group AnimaNaturalis says Monday that director Aida Gascon and colleague Yasmina Moreno were attacked Friday in the town of Mas de Barberans after planning to video a correbou, in which bulls are set loose in a ring with flaming balls of tar or wax attached to their horns.
A police official speaking on condition of anonymity due to office policy says three men and one woman were arrested in Mas de Barberans on suspicion of assault and damaging property.
National TV channel La Sexta broadcast a video showing the women being attacked and stripped of their camera.
