Reds starter Johnny Cueto underwent strength testing and an MRI of his strained right lat on Friday, which showed that the muscle is still not fully healed.
“They showed basically about 75 percent of the strain is healed,” trainer Paul Lessard told Cincinnati.com. “He’s going to continue to do the strengthening stuff for another week and then we’ll re-scan him again and see if that 25 percent has closed up.”

Cueto has been on the DL since June 29 with the strained lat. It is the third time he’s been on the DL with the same injury.
Time is running out for him to return this season.
Because he is a starter, he would need to build his pitch count. Since there are only two weeks left in the minor league season, there won’t be anywhere to go on rehab assignment.
