Preds’ Fisher in running for EA Sports’ ‘NHL 14’ cover
Mike Fisher wants your vote.
The Predators forward is among the final 16 players in the fan-generated voting to appear on the cover of EA Sports’ “NHL 14.”
Fisher is getting into the self-campaigning act, breaking down the reasons you should support him in a video that includes his many attributes.
Mike is a great dresser.
People want to interview him.
He loves high/low fives — and giving autographs.
He has great hair.
He can play volleyball.
He eats tennis balls for fun.
There’s no mention of his country music star wife, Carrie Underwood, though she is getting in on the act, lending her support on Twitter.
Fisher is going head-to-head against the Red Wings’ Pavel Datsyuk, with voting running through May 12 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
On Thursday, May 9, EA Sports is encouraging fans to vote on Twitter, with all votes cast between 12 a.m.-11:59 p.m. counting double. Fans should use the hashtag #NHL14Fisher and there is no cap on the number of votes fans can cast.
The voting will continue with single-elimination matchups on May 6-12, May 13-19 and May 20-26 and the final head-to-head voting will take play on May 27-June 2.
Fisher, who already beat out teammate Brandon Yip in the first round, is the latest Predator to make it the far in the voting. Last season, goaltender Pekka Rinne advanced to the finals, but it was the Flyers’ Claude Giroux won would wind up gracing the cover.
