Pirates edge Reds on late HR, 2-1

One night after the Cincinnati Reds celebrated the 75th birthday of lights in major-league baseball parks, the lights paid a glowing part Tuesday in a 2-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates in Great American Ball Park.

Thirty-six years ago there would have been no lights, no night game, to perplex center fielder Drew Stubbs.

But nearly every major-league game is played under lights these days and Stubbs lost a fly ball in the arcs in the eighth inning that played a pivotal role in his team
