Nationals’ Wang takes it slow in camp
Nationals starter Chien-Ming Wang was the only Washington pitcher who did not work Thursday.
The rest of the staff followed Tuesday’s bullpen sessions with another round Thursday. Wang only did fielding drills. He is going slow after entering spring training healthy for the first time since 2009.
Instead of throwing every other day, like the rest of the staff, Wang will throw, then take two days off, according to the Washington Post.
“It’s not a big thing,” Nationals manager Davey Johnson said.
Wang returned to the Major Leagues in late July of last year. He had missed two seasons after an extensive shoulder surgery.
