Morrison earns Pac-12 special-teams honor

TUCSON, Ariz. — Arizona wide receiver Richard Morrison was named the Pac-12 Special Teams Player of the Week on Monday.

Morrison, a junior, returned a punt for a touchdown for the first time in his career in the third quarter of UA’s 52-17 victory over Washington on Saturday. Morrison took the punt back 63 yards, aided by a key block from Mark Watley, for a touchdown on the longest return of his career.

Arizona’s previous punt return for a touchdown was turned in by Bug Wright,

who had an 86-yard score against Washington State on Nov. 7, 2009, at

Arizona Stadium.

The Wildcats now have four player-of-the-week honors — one on defense and three on special teams — from the conference this season.
