Miami Dolphins make cuts early, waive five players
The Miami Dolphins made five cuts ahead of Saturday’s preseason game at Tampa.
Miami has waived guards Jeff Braun and Chandler Burden, wide receiver Kenny Stafford, defensive tackle Chris Burnette and linebacker Alonzo Highsmith.
“The Miami Dolphin organization is a class act,” Braun said on his Twitter feed. “Thankful I was given a shot, but this business is a tough one for sure. On to the next …”
Miami must cut its roster to 75 players by Tuesday afternoon. The team will play its last preseason game against New Orleans on Aug. 29, and the Dolphins will make their final roster cuts to 53 before preparing for the season opener at Cleveland on Sept. 8.
