Key 3-pointers lead to San Diego win vs. LMU
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Reserve Darian Norris hit three 3-pointers during a key three-minute stretch of the second half then added another with 1:17 remaining as San Diego knocked off Loyola Marymount 60-57 Thursday night.
Norris’ final 3-pointer broke a 55-all tie. A basket by Anthony Ireland brought Loyola within 58-57, but two free throws by Simi Fajemisin with 15 seconds remaining extended the lead back to three before Ireland missed a long 3-point attempt at the buzzer.
Norris finished with 12 points, all on 3-pointers. Christopher Anderson also had 12 points and Dennis Kramer had 11 for the Toreros (12-16, 7-8 West Coast).
Ashley Hamilton had 15 points and Ireland 14 for the Lions (18-11, 10-5), who had won six of their previous seven games.
With one game remaining in the regular season, Loyola Marymount sits as the No. 4 seed in the conference, while San Diego is at No. 6.
