JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — The Jacksonville Jaguars have been awarded rookie defensive end Gerald Rivers off waivers from St. Louis.
The Jaguars made room for Rivers on the 53-man roster by placing guard Mike Brewster on injured reserve. Brewster, filling in for injured starter Will Rackley (concussion), broke his left ankle in Sunday’s loss to Buffalo.
The 6-foot-5, 258-pound Rivers earned a spot on the Rams’ opening day roster. He played in two games, seeing action on defense and special teams, and was waived Saturday.
