Indians designate Carrasco, call up Guilmet, transfer Marson to 60-day DL

CLEVELAND, OH – The Cleveland Indians today announced the following roster moves relative to the Major League roster:

Selected the contract of RHP PRESTON GUILMET (#36) from the Triple-A Columbus Clippers.
Designated RHP CARLOS CARRASCO for assignment for the purpose of optioning him to AAA Columbus.
Transferred C LOU MARSON from the 15-day DL to the 60-day DL.

Guilmet, 25, has spent the year at AAA Columbus where he has gone 2-4 with 16 saves and a 2.32 ERA in 34 relief outings (42.2IP, 34H, 11ER, 12BB, 50K). He has limited Triple-A hitters to a .207 (34-164) average against and has fanned 10.55 batters per 9.0IP this season.  He is currently 2nd in the International League in saves (16) and was selected to the Triple-A All-Star Game.  Over his last 13 outings since May 27 his ERA is 0.51 (17.2IP, 16H, 1ER, 5BB, 22K) and on the season has limited right-handed hitters to a .167 (15-90) average against.  The Tribe’s 9th round pick in the 2009 draft will be making his Major League debut with the Indians today. It is pronounced gill-met.
Carrasco has gone 0-4 with a 9.10 ERA in 6 starts (28.2IP, 47H, 29ER).
