Game-Day Update From East Lansing

Gophers will be without three regulars tonight:  Hard-hitting Tom Serratore and promising

rookie Vinnie Lettieri are both at home in Minnesota with injuries. Serratore

was hurt in practice Tuesday; Lettieri’s injury is unknown.

Healthy scratches:

Don’t look for Ben Marshall to be in the lineup, as least not for

tonight. Marshall is healthy but the coaching staff feels he hasn’t been

playing up to par recently so he’ll observe from the stands.

Also out of the lineup: Ryan Reilly, who hasn’t suited up

all season. Look for that to change, though – perhaps soon.

National team edges Wolverines:  Gophers Head Coach Don Lucia was in Ann Arbor

last night to watch the US National Under 18 team play Michigan. The #3

Wolverines squandered a 4-2 third period lead to fall 5-4 in overtime at Yost

Lucia, of course, is getting set to coach the U.S. National

Junior Team at the World Junior Championships in Sweden in January. Camp begins

December 15th.

So long, 2013:  The #1

Gophers end the 2013 portion of their season here in East Lansing tonight

against Michigan State. It’s the Spartans’ inaugural weekend of Big Ten hockey,

Minnesota’s second following its home sweep of Wisconsin last weekend.
