FSU to open 2013 season on Labor Day at Pitt

Florida State will jump right into its ACC football slate in 2013, opening at Pittsburgh, which will be making its conference debut after leaving the Big East.
It will be the first meeting between the two schools since 1983 and will take place at Heinz Field before a national television audience on Labor Day.
The Seminoles, who will be opening on the road for the first time since 2007, then get a bye before playing three of the next four at home. Another bye follows that stretch before at trip to Clemson on Oct. 19.
Among other notable dates, Florida State will host rival Miami on Nov. 2 and closes it ACC slate on Nov. 16 vs. Syracuse, another new conference member making the jump from the Big East.
The Seminoles then host Idaho on Nov. 23, before ending its regular season in Gainesville vs. the Gators on Nov. 30.
“There are all big games on the road,” FSU coach Jimbo Fisher told Seminoles.com. “I love our home schedule though.
“It is going to be very challenging but we will be ready to play. I like that the home games are spread out throughout the season. I like the diversity of this schedule. The ACC did a great job. It is a great schedule.”
