The Seahawks were upended in San Fran and Denver put up 51 in a win, so naturally we’d have a shakeup in the rankings. Well, not so fast.
1 Seahawks 11-2
Article continues below ...
Despite the loss, the Seahawks remain the best team in the NFL. They are too tough to beat at home and they should have no problem winning out and locking up the No. 1 seed in the NFC.
2 Broncos 11-2 +1
The Broncos have scored the most points in the first 13 games of a season in NFL history — 12 more than the 2007 New England Patriots.
3 Saints 10-3 +2
The Saints are 7-0 at home this season and 8-0 when playing indoors. Drew Brees has thrown twice as many touchdowns at home than he has on the road.
4 Patriots 10-3
The Patriots have now secured their 11th straight 10-win season, but it took a controversial pass interference call against the Browns to do so.
5 Panthers 9-4 -3
Carolina can get revenge on the Saints in two weeks, but even if the Panthers win, they would still lose the tiebreaker — assuming the Saints win their other two games.
6 49ers 9-4 +1
The 49ers defense is allowing just 13 points per game since Week 4, and they are 8-2 during that span.
7 Bengals 9-4 -1
The Bengals are unbeaten at home this season and have scored more than 40 points in their last three games in Cincinnati.
8 Chiefs 10-3
The Chiefs’ 35-point win over the Redskins on Sunday was the third-largest margin of victory for any team this season and was KC’s largest margin since 2006.
9 Eagles 8-5
Nick Foles and the offense have been getting the majority of the attention, but very quietly, the Eagles defense has held opponents under 22 points for nine straight weeks and forced multiple turnovers in five straight games.
10 Cardinals 8-5 +3
The Cardinals are 8-5, but their win over the Rams on Sunday was their first within the division. That will hurt in tie-breaking scenarios.
11 Lions 7-6 -1
The Lions fumbled the ball seven times on Sunday, and that wasn’t even a franchise worst!
12 Ravens 7-6 +2
Joe Flacco has thrown a career-high 17 interceptions with three games remaining, but the Ravens are 4-1 in their last five and are over .500 for the first time since Week 5.
13 Colts 8-5 -2
Despite the loss to the Bengals on Sunday, the Colts still clinched their first AFC South title since 2010. Indy has been outscored 114-24 in the first halves of its last six games.
14 Bears 7-6 +6
I’m not sure there is a better group of receivers than the one in Chicago. That includes Martellus Bennett and Matt Forte.
15 Dolphins 7-6
Although he only ran the ball twice, Ryan Tannehill had a career-high 56 rushing yards. I’d really like to see the Dolphins utilize his athleticism more frequently in their offensive scheme.
16 Cowboys 7-6 -4
This defense is just awful — and it shouldn’t be. 17 Chargers 6-7
Philip Rivers completed 75 percent of his passes for 249 yards and three touchdowns vs. the Giants, good for his highest passer rating of the season. He continues to lead the league in completion percentage. 18 Packers 6-6-1 +6
The Packers won their first game since Week 8 and still find themselves just a half game out of the divisional lead. With a healthy Aaron Rodgers, this team can easily win the NFC North.
19 Steelers 5-8 -3
Ben Roethlisberger is now the franchise leader for touchdown passes in Pittsburgh. His 215 are three more than Terry Bradshaw. 20 Titans 5-8 -1
The Titans actually held a one-point lead at halftime against the Broncos but were then outscored 31-7 in the second half.
21 Jets 6-7 +1
The Jets scored a season-best 37 points on Sunday and had just one turnover. When the Jets have one or fewer giveaways, they are a perfect 4-0 on the season.
22 Giants 5-8 -4
Eli Manning is now 0-3 against the team that drafted him; this most recent loss officially eliminated the Giants from the playoffs.
23 Rams 5-8 -2
The Rams have been officially eliminated from the playoffs and will finish without a winning record for the 10th straight season.
24 Vikings 3-9-1 -1
Cordarelle Patterson is going to be an explosive playmaker in this league for years to come. He has the tools to be very special.
25 Jaguars 4-9 +5
The Jaguars — yes, the Jaguars — currently hold the longest winning streak in the AFC.
26 Buccaneers 4-9
Despite a career-low 90 passing yards from Mike Glennon and his first multi-interception game since his first start, the Bucs scored 27 points and beat the Bills for their fourth win in the last five games.
27 Bills 4-9 -2
The Bills will now suffer their ninth consecutive losing season, which is the longest active streak in the NFL.
28 Browns 4-9 +3
Jason Campbell had a career-high in passing yards (391) and touchdowns (three) on Sunday, but in the end, the Browns gave up two touchdowns in the final 1:01 to lose to the Patriots, 27-26.
29 Falcons 3-10 -1
It was literally the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field on Sunday against the Packers as the dome-team Falcons put up a valiant effort but fell to 1-6 on the road this season.
30 Raiders 4-9 -3
The Raiders have now lost three straight for the first time this season and are just 1-4 when starting a quarterback other than Terrelle Pryor.
31 Redskins 3-10 -2
32 Texans 2-11
With the loss to the Jaguars on Thursday night, the Texans became the first AFC team to be mathematically eliminated from the playoffs.
